Search Text : TONSILLITIS. Vol 7, Book 71. Medicine. Hadith 599. (Shahi Bukhari) Search Result Narrated By Anas: That he was asked about the wages of the one who cups others. He said, 'Allah's Apostle was cupped by Abd Taiba, to whom he gave two Sa of food and interceded for him with his masters who consequently reduced what they used to charge him daily. Then the Prophet s said, "The best medicines you may treat yourselves with are cupping and sea incense.' He added, "You should not torture your children by treating TONSILLITIS by pressing the tonsils or the palate with the finger, but use incense." Assalam Mufti Saab Can u explain me the last part of the Hadith. That is the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said not to press the tonsils of children but use incense. What does it mean??? JazakAllah Khair

Wa alaikumus salaam. It is a kind of wood found in India which is also called ( Oud Hindi ) and it is used to extract essential oils and perfumes commonly known as '' Parfum Oud ". This hadith only indicates that instead of pressing the tonsil, this wood should be inhaled. However the way to inhale, the quantity that should be used and its frequency and dosage etc can only be known by those who are trained in this specific field i.e. the physicians, pharmacologist or a hakeem.
