SWEET AND BLAND

Drink a sweet tea. Then, eat a Gulab jamoun, Laddu or Jalebi and then drink your tea again. You will notice that at first, the tea seemed very good but the second time it was not such because it was bland. You had found it sweet and good because you did not know the real meaning of sweetness. When you got the opportunity to taste something really sweet, this has devaluated the value of the tea that you had drunk at first. The same thing happens in our everyday lives. We love this one and that one. We cannot live without him / her. We can even sacrifice our lives if the need arises. One day, we see someone else who is a bit more beautiful. Now, the previous one has become bland. Her beauty spots now appear as an ugly spot on the face. It is like, as long as you were hungry, you did not get the opportunity to look at anything. However, as your stomach is getting filled gradually, you find that the food is spicy, there is lack of salt, it is not hot enough, etc. You start seeing a lot of defects.

Similarly, everything is pleasant in Dunya to such an extent that we get enamoured in it. However, the day that we will get the true love and affection for Allah Ta’ala, everything else will become bland. If we are still loving everything and we are attaching our heart to everything, it is because we did not get to know this true love and affection as yet. A true affection is an affection that a person has for his Rabb.
